Qur'an Juz' XXVII (قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُم ) China, 19th century or earlier, Arabic manuscript on paper, 58ff., with 5ll. of bold black sini script to the page, the double-page opening with 3ll. of the same within thin black margins, framed by bands of spiraling straps on red field, the head board with calligraphic lobed medallions on leafy ground, the lower panel with tessellated lattice dotted in red, the closing double page similarly laid out, the bands latticed in gold and blue, calligraphic upper panels in white foliated script flanked by leafy tendrils bearing gold globular trefoils, the lower panel with floral lattice, one red, one white, lobed rosette verse markers, surah headings in red script on plain ground, within red thin double rules, the covers and flap lacking, some catchwords and scattered inscriptions in modern blue ink, text block separated folio 29.5 x 19.7cm.
