Qur'an Juz' XXI (أُتْلُ مَاأُوْحِیَ ) China, 19th century or earlier, Arabic manuscript on paper, 59ff., 1fl., with 5ll. of bold black sini script to the page, the double-page opening with 3ll. of the same within thin green margins, framed by bands of geometric designs dotted in blue and green, the head board with a intersecting half-circles on floral ground, its asp with a floral roundel, the lower panel with tessellated with an iteration of square containing simplified quatrefoils similarly dotted, the closing double page similarly laid out, the panels and bands with gold and polychrome floral tendrils, lobed rosette verse markers, surah headings in gold script on blue dotted plain ground, within red thin double rules, later highlighted in black, the covers and flap lined with floral cloth folio 28 x 21.5cm.
