Property from an Important Private Collection Three lacquered papier mache bindings Qajar Iran, 19th century the first with each cover painted with an elegant floral spray composed of roses and other flowers, the border with scrolling tendrils with serrated leaves, each reverse with two swaying vine with large green leaves and red acorns, within calligraphic borders, with red leather spine, some blemishes and cracks, good condition overall ; the second with rose bushes within floral frame and gold scrolling tendril border, the reverse with singular floral spray on red plain field within gold geometric borders, torn dark brown leather spine, inventory label applied to lower right corner of lower cover, some craquelures, historical repairs, blemishes, scattered losses, damages and losses to corners ; the third with similar decoration to the second to each cover, dark brown spine with remnants of strings and glue, some cracks and older damages, fair condition the covers, 21 x 13cm., 20.5 x 13.5cm, 15.4 x 9.4cm.
