Two calligraphic panels, Qajar Iran, one dated 1320AH/1902AD, The first comprising lines of diagonal bold black nasta'liq arranged around a central square featuring 5ll. of black naskh in oval cartouches and the date1320AH to lower left, with gold panels to interstices, on a cream ground, 2.3 x 21.3cm.; and a calligraphic excercise (mashq) in black on blue paper on a deep purple folio, 33 x 20.5cm. (2) Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of 'Abd al-Wahhab Khan, Nizam ul-Mulk (1848-1916) and thence by descent in the early 20th century to a private London collection
