Two excerpts from the Qur’an Qajar Iran, dated AH 1269/1853 CE one volume containing passages from sura 3 and 4, the other from sura 1, with 11ff., 9ll. of black naskh and red interlinear translation in Persian, opening folio with gold and polychrome illuminated header, both volumes with long Persian waqf inscriptions in the name of Mirza Fathallah, one dated 1271 AH (1855 CE), with seal impressions, brown leather cover folio 24 x 15cm. (2) Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of 'Abd al-Wahhab Khan, Nizam ul-Mulk (1848-1916) and thence by descent in the early 20th century to a private London collection
