A Safavid calligraphic album, Iran, first quarter 17th century, Persian manuscript on cream paper, safina format, 10 panels, each with 3ll.of black nasta'liq in cloud bands on a gold ground, arranged in two columns, opening folio with illuminated header, later binding, olive green covers with medallions containing gold openwork cutout, attribution on the initial blank attributing the calligraphy to Mir ‘Imad d.1615 panel 11.2 x 5.9cm., folio 18.9 x 10.5cm. Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of 'Abd al-Wahhab Khan, Nizam ul-Mulk (1848-1916) and thence by descent in the early 20th century to a private London collection
