Empire period clock, dedicated to lyrical poetry, featuring Erato, standing and wiggling, leaning on a terminal housing the movement. To her right, an Athenian incense burner, center a lyre. To her right, an Athenian incense burner, a lyre in the center. Finely chased bronze, with dark patina and mercury gilding, partially amati. Signed "Mercier" on the dial. Paris, circa 1810.
