Ernst Hassebrauk (1905 Dresden - 1974 ibid.) In the porcelain collection Hassebrauk's still life, painted in expressive colors and composed in sections, reflects both his intensive engagement with the Dutch and Flemish masters as well as the influence of the Fauvists and Expressionists such as Henri Matisse, Otto Dix and Oskar Kokoschka. Hassebrauk studied in Dresden and Leipzig, where he was a master student of Willi Geiger. He undertook numerous study trips to southern Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
