Léon Bénigni (1892 Paris - 1948) Ski jumper Charming sheet, reduced in coloring, form and composition and thus characteristic of the French commercial artist and illustrator, who was particularly known for his fashion drawings, which mainly show slender, elongated women, outlined in fine lines and boldly colored. Bénigni created designs for renowned fashion magazines, collaborated with famous designers and fashion designers, produced illustrations for works of classical literature and designed advertising posters, including a series of travel posters in the 1920s/1930s, e.g. for the spa and ski resort of Brides-les-Bains. India ink and opaque white/paper or cardboard. Signed l. and twice; mat opening 36.6 cm x 13 cm. Frame. Indian ink and whitening on paper or cardboard. Signed twice.
