Ludwig Heinrich Jungnickel (1881 Wunsiedel - 1965 Vienna) Sitting chimpanzee Typical motif and style sheet by the important German-Austrian painter, graphic artist and designer, who is best known for his depictions of animals. In 1906, Jungnickel exhibited at the Vienna Secession, and as an employee of the Wiener Werkstätte, he designed utility and interior objects, prints and postcards as well as the animal frieze for a children's room in the Palais Stoclet in Brussels. From 1911 to 1915 he won numerous international awards, from 1924 Jungnickel was a member and regular exhibitor at the Vienna Künstlerhaus, and in 1930 and 1937 he received the Austrian State Prize for Fine Arts.
