Otto Dill (1884 Neustadt a. d. Hardt - 1957 Bad Dürkheim) A pair of tigers in the thicket Ever since his childhood, Dill had been fascinated by cats of prey in particular, which is why tigers and lions were a major motif in his oeuvre alongside horses and riders. From 1908 to 1914, the artist studied at the Munich Academy, where he was a master student of the animal painter Heinrich von Zügel. As early as 1917, he was represented with a large collection of paintings and drawings at the Glaspalast and exhibited as a member of the Munich Secession from 1922-1930. Watercolor/handmade paper. Signed lower right; mat opening 35.4 cm x 46.5 cm. Frame. Watercolor on paper. Signed.
