Edward Harrison Compton (1881 Feldafing on Lake Starnberg - 1960 ibid.) View of Heidelberg Impressionist veduta painted in light, pastel tones by the well-known landscape painter. In addition to the Alps - his main subject - Compton not only traveled to Bavaria, but also to Potsdam, Würzburg and old towns in southern Germany. He initially captured their landscape charm in drawings and watercolors, which he later often turned into paintings in his studio in Feldafing. Watercolor and pencil/handmade paper. Signed lower left and with location Munich. 29 cm x 40.3 cm. Frame. Watercolor and pencil on paper. Signed and inscribed with location Munich.
