Richard Benno Adam (1873 Munich - 1937 ibid.) Portrait of the stallion "Amnerio" Lively, finely executed study by Adam, who painted horse portraits for the German, Austrian, Bohemian and Hungarian aristocracy from 1896 onwards. As the son of the painter Emil Adam, he received significant inspiration from his father's painting. He completed his training at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Munich and the Academy in Karlsruhe. Pencil and opaque white/light, gray-green cardboard. Signed, inscribed and dated. "Schloß Nymphenburg 6.IV.(18)95. (/) im kgl. Hofstall nach der Natur gezeichnet" and titled "'Amnerio' (/) Sattelpferd (Stange)". 30.1 cm x 42.2 cm. Frame. Pencil with whitening on thin, green-grey cardboard. Signed, dated (18)95 and inscribed.
