Johann Moritz Rugendas (1802 Augsburg - 1859 Weilheim an der Teck) "anda siempre!". Original title Humorous, scenic, lively depiction of a rider on a bucking horse trying to cross a small bamboo bridge over a gorge, while a cattle has stopped on the other side. Painted during one of his many years of travels and expeditions to South America (probably 1822-1825) by the artist, who traveled to Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay. A friend of Alexander von Humboldt, Rugendas published the work "Voyage pittoresque dans le Bresil" with 100 of his own lithographs in Paris in 1827. At the suggestion of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, the Bavarian state acquired his important American oeuvre of 3353 studies in 1848 (mostly preserved in the Staatl. Graphische Sammlung München).
