Oversized Nain palace carpet Persia. 2nd half of the 20th century; cork wool with silk highlights on cotton. Very fine weave. The ivory-colored central field features a large, centrally arranged medallion with pendants and wide, matching curved corner motifs in light blue and Bordeaux red. A full-surface pattern of dense, arabesque tendrils with lancet leaves and palmette flowers in various shades of blue and beige. A wide, corresponding cream-colored main border of palmette tendrils running around the perimeter, flanked by three secondary borders each in beige and dark blue. 826 cm x 507 cm. A very large Persian Nain carpet.
