Set of six classicist chairs from the circle of Friedrich Gottlob Hoffmann Cherry wood. Trapezoidal frame on conical, slightly flared square legs. Rectangular, slightly reclining backrest with a wide, pointed arch-like openwork central element and a gadrooned bar finial. Upholstered and covered seat. Seat h. 47 cm. Chairs with a similar neo-Gothic pointed arch motif in the backrest design, but with a much more solid frame designed by Hoffmann, are in the possession of the Dessau/Wörlitz Cultural Foundation and the Thuringian State Museum.
