Francesco Podesti (Ancona 1800-Rome 1895) Hero and Leandro Oil on canvas 38x47 cm - with frame 48x56 cm Known mostly for his icy and academic painting, Podesti manages to seduce the viewer with a liquid and bewitching brushstroke in his sketches. Proof of this is this interesting canvas of which the final work cannot be found today. On the reverse it bears "Profilo di donna" and the inscription "F.Podesti R."
