Magnificent mantel clock by KPM Berlin with soft painting On a three-sided curved base with voluted corner pilaster strips on the front. Baluster-shaped clock body on four sturdy volute feet with heavily relief-painted decoration of rocaille, foliage and latticework. Multi-partitioned, cornice-like profiled crown with large volute. A fully sculpted putto sitting on the left shoulder. The wall and base decorated with fine bouquets of flowers including wild roses, forget-me-nots, asters, violets, butterflies and dragonflies in fine, pastel-colored, so-called soft painting. Pale green, yellow and pink staffage and rich gold decoration. Designed by Robert Schirmer, 1885. Round movement case. Glazed, brass-framed porcelain dial in rose and apple green with floral arrangements and gold Roman numerals. Movement plate marked "Lenzkirch A.G.U 1 Million" with no. 306228.
