Elegant sterling silver cigarette box. Cuboid body with strict, smooth, straight walls. Push-in lid. Cedar wood interior. After a design by F. A. Breuhaus, 1930. 925 mark, maker's mark. Weight approx. 230 g. H. 9 cm. 5.6 cm x 5.1 cm. The architect Fritz August Breuhaus de Groot (1883-1860) was a member of the Deutscher Werkbund from 1910 and a titular professor from 1928. In addition to his work as an architect in Germany and Switzerland, he also designed cutlery and cabinetry, some for well-known manufacturers such as WMF.
