Large Meissen mantel clock "Clock carried by two putti". Original title Rectangular base, beveled at the corners and partly curved, on pressed ball feet. A seated pair of putti, girl and boy, leaning towards the center on iron-red, gold-flowered cushions, supporting the cylindrical clock case. Arabic numerals in relief on a white dial decorated in gold. Porcelain pendulum painted in framboise and gold as a radiant sun. Mechanical, modern movement "Franz Hermle". Clock designed by Paul Scheurich, around 1915 - 1919. H. 34 cm. 60 cm x 23 cm. Scheurich originally created the clock in bronze in 1915 (still without a base). In 1918, the Meissen manufactory commissioned the artist to create the clock in porcelain and acquired the model in 1919. The elaborately designed and painted clock was one of the most luxurious objects after 1924 and cost 1010 Reichsmark at the time in the painted version without movement. Cf. cat. Bröhan-Museum, vol.
