Decorative box by Daum Frères with silver lid Round, spherically pressed shape. Colorless glass. Chrysanthemum decoration, etched and in combination with enamel and gold painting, ice glass-like ground. The flat, slightly domed silver lid, gilded on the inside, with corresponding chased chrysanthemum stem. Signed "Daum Nancy" with Lorraine cross in gold. Mounting and lid with French silver guarantee mark (minerva head) for 950 silver; maker's mark "JM" with double hammer and two stars by Joseph Alexandre Martel, Paris (active 1888-1914). D. 12 cm. A French Daum Frères acid-etched, enamelled and gold painted glass box with silver-mounting and cover decorated with chrysanthemum flowers. Signed "Daum Nancy" with the Cross of Lorraine in gold.
