Description

Small, rare baroque silver jug. Smooth pear-shaped body on a flared base ring, surrounded in the center by an acanthus leaf and flower band chased in relief. Hinged, slightly domed lid with pine cone pommel and smooth, wide rim. The lid alternately decorated with chased angel heads and fruit bouquets. Branch-shaped thumb rest, rolled at the ends, merging into a rolled band handle. Short console spout. Gilt interior. Marked, inspection mark, indistinct master's mark. Weight approx. 155 g.
