Description

Rare Rococo silver sugar bowl. Ovoid, bulbous body supported by four flared leaf feet in relief with a domed hinged lid. The smooth wall decorated on the front and back with oval cartouches framed by rocailles in relief with C-sweeps and stylized latticework. Branches with leaves extending from it. On the lid a flower-shaped rosette of leaves with a fully sculpted, conical, flame-like twisted bud. The underside of the base with the owner's monogram "C.F.L.v.M". Fig. 12 lot, hallmark, master Johann Friedrich Kühne (active from ca 1751). Weight approx. 295 g. H. 13 cm. 14.5 cm x 10 cm.
