Large Brunswick museum vase with chinoiserie Slender, curved baluster shape with cylindrical neck. Sharp fire painting in graduated shades of blue of Chinese in landscape, to the foot, shoulder and neck lambrequin decoration, net ornaments, stylized flowers and leaf tendrils. Extremely minim. dam. to lip rim, minim. Hairline crack to the foot. Manufactory mark "VH" in ligature with painter's monogr. "A" for Johann Paul Ap(b)el. H. 40,5 cm. Lit.: Thomas Rudi (ed.): Cat.
