Fine, rare Louis XVI gold tabatiere with miniature barrel movement Red gold and aventurine glass. Round shape with a faceted lid. Walls of intense light and dark blue aventurine glass with cloud-like, iridescent copper and gold-colored inclusions. The rims set with delicately chased and chased ornamental bands, decorated with leaf tendrils and dotted decoration. Inside a small removable miniature music box. The inside lined with silver foil. Partly cracked wall; partly indistinctly marked, tenant's stamp Henry Clavel (1783-1789) and master Jean-Francois Delanoy (active since ca. 1785), Parisian inspection mark with date; weight ca. 65 g.
