Artist information: real name Sally Katzenstein, German landscape painter of the Düsseldorf school (1865 Heinebach/Hesse until 1942 internment camp Noé near Toulouse), from 1887 studied at the Düsseldorf art academy, 1888 first stay on Sylt, master student at the academy in Berlin Eugen Bracht, opened a studio in Westerland, from 1890 participated in the major art exhibitions in Berlin and Munich, also gained importance as a local politician on Sylt, 1937 moved to Wiesbaden and then to Baden-Baden, 1940 moved to Baden-Baden. Moved to Wiesbaden and then to Baden-Baden in 1937, arrested in Baden-Baden in 1940 and sent to the Gurs internment camp in France, source: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
