From the author, Delaunay, Laisné, Bohaire in Paris, 1835 - A superb copy of this very rare travelogue, in its second edition at the date of the original. Complete with 15 lithographed hors-texte plates, including a folding portrait of Otto King of the Greeks, a folding plate depicting the Duchess de Berry's voyage aboard the Francesco and the last two plates, each with 5 vignettes, in addition to numerous in-text vignettes. The interior is generally fresh, with light and slightly more pronounced brown spots on a few plates. A very well-bound copy in period binding, full blue Romantic calf, double framed in gilt fillets on the boards, 4-nerved spine with richly ornamented coffers, gilt fillets on the edges and marbled edges, gilt lace on the flyleaves. Label of the bookseller Bossange Père on the flyleaf. Very slight rubbing and small snags at head and tail of first spine, not serious, very fine condition for this now particularly rare work, the only travel account by physician Jean Giraudeau Saint Gervais.
