"Jizai-Kagi", impressive suspension representing a "Koi fish" in carved and lacquered wood. Large in size, it symbolizes prosperity, perseverance and good fortune, holding a ball in its mouth as a wish-granting jewel. Japanese work. Period: 19th century, late Edo. Provenance: Kyoto private collection. A rare object given its size, one meter long in solid wood and weighing 12.5kg.
