Its construction is simple and accomplished. Three legs are joined by folded sheet-metal crosspieces that fit into them. Fasteners consolidate the tripod. The free-standing tripod can be fitted with a stone, glass or wood top. The latter is attached to the base. Originally designed for Atlas, the 95 cm-diameter pedestal table will be produced in several versions with different heights and circumferences. Charlotte Perriand used a series entirely in African red wood for the Air France building in Brazzaville. Its aesthetic is light. The three legs are reminiscent of the uprights of a slatted visitor's chair. Some archive photos show Jean Prouvé seated in the armchair we sold at the "Les Prouvé de Jean Prouvé" sale, October 17, 2023, opposite a low stone-topped pedestal table.
