Spine oiled, a few small rubs. First edition. Numerous figures in the text and 30 woodcut plates outside the text. In the style of Les Français peints par eux-mêmes, the publisher has assembled chronicles of visitors to Paris from foreign countries bordering France (including Savoy), as well as China, Russia, Brazil, etc. The texts are by Desnoyers. First edition of Grandville's numerous wood-engraved illustrations in and outside the text (including the 2 frontispieces and 48 plates outside the text).
