Cabinet in gold lacquer on a black background and aventurine lacquer. Richly carved and openworked blackened wood base decorated with stylized foliage. The cabinet is decorated with lake and mountain landscapes. Rich ornamentation in cut and engraved brass, including hinges, lock escutcheons and spandrels. The front opens with two leaves revealing eight layettes and two guichets. Japan for the English market in the 17th century style for the cabinet, in the Japanese style for the base.
