It includes four writings by the Catholic theologian and humanist Johannes Cochläus (1479-1552), one of the most fierce opponents of Martin Luther and the Reformation. Includes a work by the Catholic Dominican and cathedral preacher in Augsburg Johannes Fabri (1504-1558) on all popes and all Roman kings and emperors, followed by the Byzantine emperors up to 800, as well as the Frankish and German emperors, up to 1550. Here in 2nd ed. from 1551 - The first and third Cochlaeus works are incomplete: the first 7 volumes of "Philippicae quatuor" are missing, in "Philippica sexta [...]" the last 4 vols. - Clasps only fragmentarily preserved. Front cover with missing part, back cover loose. Rear hinge cracked, some worming, occasional small tears / creases. Type area somewhat rubbed in places, some marginalia and old hand markings. Text otherwise in good condition.
