USTC 1116810.- Two rare 17th century prints in one volume. - ╔I.╗ The author (1608 - 1676) was a Jesuit from Neuss and worked as a teacher of rhetoric in San Sebastian (Spain), as a preacher in Cologne, as head of the Collegium in St. Goar and as an ambassadorial preacher in Copenhagen. - ╔II.╗ The homiletic work "Evangelistarum quaternio, seu evangelicae historiae dispositio" by the Jesuit Johannes Hajus, here in the first edition Douai 1607. The author was a Jesuit, came from Hainaut, taught philosophy and theology in Leuven and Douai (here as rector of the college). He died in 1614. Title page with decorative borders depicting the four evangelists. - Former library copy with stamp and spine signature. Capitals and outer hinges with lesions, covers and some outer boards with some worming. Binding with moderate signs of storage and age. Paper more browned in places. Type area otherwise clean and without marks. Engravings partly stamped recte.
