"Euangelische Inquisition" in one of two Ingolstadt editions published in 1580 (VD16 E 535; the EA appeared in 1574); "Das guldene Flüß" in EA 1579 (VD16 E 534). - Both writings "[...] caused a sensation throughout Europe as a frontal attack against the theological foundations of Lutheranism" (NDB IV, 311). - Former library copy with stamp and spine signature. Binding bumped. Clasps only fragmentarily preserved. Front hinge slightly cracked, minimal worming. A few pages waterstained. Moderate darkening of pages as is usual with age.
