Kim Tiền, Phi Long (flying dragon) of 5 Tiền in gold, Thành Thái era (1889-1907), character 15 in the obverse exergue indicating the 15th year of the Emperor's reign, i.e. 1903, Pierre signature difficult to read at 9 o'clock on the obverse, pierced, suspension pin soldered to the reverse. 31 mm, gross weight: 17.7 g. TTB Jewels 418 (three known examples). Sylvester 2/A/B/2/e (3.1.2.2.1). In 1903, a contract was signed with the industrialist Paul Pierre for the supply of these mechanically struck pieces.
