Illustrated boards with a red composition on orange background by Matisse (slightly faded, lower board slightly rubbed, wear to spines and edges). 40 color compositions on single, double, triple or quadruple pages. "The works reproduced in color lithographs were created by the artist, on gouache paper, cut with scissors and glued. They are accompanied by drawings executed during the same period or earlier. Matisse specially composed the cover for this volume. Under his direction, the first of these lithographic plates were printed in 1954" (cfr p. 2). Penultimate issue of this mythical magazine.
