Relation de l'inauguration solemnelle de Sa Sacrée Majesté Léopold II. [...] as Count of Flanders, celebrated in Ghent, capital of the province, on July VI. 1791. Ghent A. Colier 1792 Folio: 47-[1 bl.] pp. (some minor spotting at blank outer margin). Contemp. marbled calf, coat of arms on covers, gilt spine with raised bands (corners, head & tail rubbed). Very good copy. Account of the inauguration of Leopold II as Count of Flanders, succeeding Emperor Joseph II, at Ghent July 6th 1791. Leopold was represented by Prince Albert of Saxony. Title and heading printed in red and black, text within ornamental ruled border. Ref. Bibl. gant. 6770. - Landwehr (Splendid ceremonies) 287 (1). - STCV. Prov. Presentation copy (as most copies) with coat of arms of Flanders (supralibros) and (loosely inserted) printed ex dono signed by François-Dominique d'Hoop (1737-1808), deputy of the States of Flanders who was in charge for the the emperor's inauguration, with ms. mention "p:s: hier nevens oock de medaillen vande selve huldinge". - Mod. stamp on flyleaf.
