Vega Sicília Valbuena 5º Año is a magnificent red wine elaborated by the prestigious winery Vega Sicília in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Vega Sicilia is one of the best known and most valued wineries worldwide, today we can speak of it as having become a myth. Vega Sicilia Valbuena is the youngest wine of the winery, although it is aged for 3 and a half years in barrels. It is a blend of Tempranillo and Merlot varieties with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. All the grapes come from the estate they have in the town of Valbuena de Duero, in the province of Valladolid. They have 250 hectares of their own vineyards where they take care of all the details to the maximum throughout the year. Vega Sicília Valbuena is aged in American oak barrels. It starts in new barrels and is racked into more and more used barrels to achieve a good balance between the wine and the wood. Once bottled, Vega Sicília Valbuena rests for a year and a half before being released to the market. Vega Sicília Valbuena is a very fine and elegant wine from Ribera del Duero, with a great capacity for aging in bottle.
