Description

1 bottle Petrus 1976. Grand Vin, Pomerol, Bordeaux, France. Red wine. 75 cl. See images to check the condition of the label and bottle. Petrus is a red wine from the Pomerol wine region, Bordeaux, made from a selection of merlot and cabernet franc. Considered by great critics and winemakers the best wine in the world. The 11.4 hectares of Petrus vineyards are located on a plateau in the eastern part of Pomerol, and produce 95% merlot and 5% cabernet franc. The estate was the first in Bordeaux to green harvest to reduce yields and increase the quality of the remaining grapes, in some years even eliminating 50% of the crop. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand over a period of two to three days and fermented in cement vats at controlled temperatures. The young wine is aged in new French oak barrels for twenty months. A severe selection is carried out prior to blending in vats, and some lots are rejected for the Grand Vin. **The images in each lot are the actual images of the object and are therefore part of the cataloging. Thus, the buyer accepts that the condition of the wines is shown in the images and/or in the cataloging, and that the content and fragility of the cork and the seal are not the responsibility of Setdart Auctions.
