HENRI PUVREZ (1893-1971) VAL-SAINT-LAMBERT SCULPTOR & CRYSTAL MAKER Chèvre (4) & Carpe (2) & Fleurs (2), circa 1935, the Carpe model featured in the exhibition L'Art déco en Europe, Brussels, 1989 Very rare suite of 8 large glass panels for claustras. Pressed-molded glass proofs; the decorations are debossed on the back. A chip at a corner on one of the carp tiles and on one of the flower tiles. Each glass block: 33.5x33.5cm Public collections: Glass paving stones of this type are mounted as a claustra in the Foyer of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, and a work from this series is held in the collections of the Musée d'Archéologie et des Beaux-Arts in Liège. Exhibition: L'Art déco en Europe - Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, March 3 - May 23, 1989. A Carpe glass paving stone was presented at this event and reproduced in the catalog under number B7 on page 160.
