Black-figure lekythos whose body is decorated with a scene depicting Apollo playing the lyre between two seated maenads, set against a background of sprigs of dots. Orange-beige clay with black glaze and white paint highlights. Visible cracks and chips. Attic Greek art circa 500 B.C. Attributed to the Class of Athens 581. H. 17.5 cm. Provenance: Le Véel estate, then by descent.
