OMAS is an Italian company dedicated to the manufacture of fountain pens, based in Bologna. It was founded in 1925 by Armando Simoni, and its name stands for "Officina Meccanica Armando Simoni" (English: Armando Simoni mechanical workshop). At the beginning it was a small workshop dedicated to the repair of fountain pens that managed to evolve rapidly thanks to the creation of machines and equipment necessary to obtain the moldings and the grinding of the nib tips. After the death of "Cavaliere Simoni", in 1958 his daughter Raffaella and her husband Angelo Malaguti inherited the company. In 1983 their grandson, Gianluca Malaguti, joined the family business, where he showed his talent in the search for beauty and harmony of design, following the tradition of the Bolognese brand. OMAS was part of the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. group, and in June 2018 it was announced that Ancora, another Italian fountain pen manufacturer, had acquired OMAS and that production would resume and OMAS would remain a separate brand, retaining its classic models and using the materials inherited from the previous company. Presents deterioration in the resin of the body. Measurements: 15 cm. length. OMAS Hermann Hesse limited collection. Following the OMAS tradition of celebrating important events and cultural figures, we present the Herman Hesse fountain pen. Hermann Hesse's contribution to our society motivated OMAS to collaborate with the Hermann Hesse Museum to create a fountain pen dedicated to the famous writer. OMAS believes that this beautiful fountain pen will spread the message of this great German writer, winner of the NOBEL Prize for Literature. "HH", the name of the Collection, comes from the author's initials. The design has sinuous, almost musical lines. Mr. Hesse's unique ability to "know how to grasp and understand things" and his expressive style were not limited to writing alone. As proof that this fountain pen has been officially recognized by the Hermann Hesse Foundation, the management of the museum and foundation in Montagnola (Switzerland) has granted all purchasers of the pen membership status and free admission to the museum.
