Les Heures claires. Les Heures d'après-midi. Les Heures du soir. Paris, Mercure de France, 1930. In-16, hinged green resin binding, smooth spine with silver-plated title-piece (Reliure Jotau - breveté S.G.D.G.). Condition report: Resin crack above title plate. A broken corner and a crack on the spine Co-founder and director of Brodard et Taupin, a company that was to become a major player in the printing, binding and cardboard industries, Joseph Taupin, upon learning of the development in 1929 of "pollopas", a new resin similar to bakelite but colorless and able to be dyed in the mass, considered using it to produce molded bindings. Due to the cost and fragility of the finished material, there was no series production, and only a few test specimens, produced under the trademark Jotau (for JOseph TAUpin) were made.
