Marcel BERNANOSE (1884-1952) Two young Vietnamese women. Pencil, India ink and watercolor. Signed with the artist's stamp lower right. Size: 27.2x21.4 cm. Marcel BERNANOSE arrived in Indochina in the early years of the 20th century. In 1910, he was appointed by the Governor General to teach drawing at the Collège du Protectorat. At the same time, he developed a career as a painter and engraver. Returning to France in the early 20s, he exhibited at the Salons and in 1922 was awarded the Grand Prix at the Marseille Colonial Exhibition.
