Lot of 10 framed medals retracing the career of Monsieur René Jolly, director of the Cadastre and Topography department of Indochina's Nam-Dinh province in Tonkin, including: - An 1870 military medal. The obverse marked République Française 1870 and adorned with a Ceres head facing left. The reverse inscribed with the motto Valeur et discipline. - A Croix de Guerre 14-18, obverse with a Marianne laurel head to the right, reverse inscribed 1914-1918. - A combatant's cross, the effigy of the Republic turned to the left. - A Verdun medal. The obverse bearing the effigy of the Republic, helmeted and cuirassed, holding a saber, captioned "On ne passe pas" and signed Vernier. The reverse shows the Porte Chaussée, surmounted by the name of Verdun, surrounded by palms and dated at the bottom "February 21, 1916". - Commemorative medal for the fiftieth anniversary of November 11, 1918. Silver-plated metal. - Two chevalier des palmes académiques medals, silver, partially enameled red. - An Officer's Cross of the Order of Social Merit. - A bronze medal for social welfare. - A medal, obverse with Marianne's head turned to the right.
