Description

CONVENT OF WILHELMSBAD. - MASONIC RULE FOR THE USE OF REUNITED AND RECTIFIED LODGES adopted at the Wilhelmsbad General Convent. S.l.n.n., 5782 [Brunswick, Johann Jakob Kolb, 1782]. In-12 (unusual format of quires of 4 ff. 16.4 x 10 cm with vertical spandrels), marbled brown basane (contemporary binding). 24 pp. ONE OF THE EDITIONS PUBLISHED IN 1782, OF WHICH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHICH IS THE ORIGINAL. Barbier attributes the work to Jean de Turckheim rather than Jean-Baptiste Willermoz; Fesch (col. 1151) offers no attribution; Wolfstieg (no. 25035) recalls that Rheinold Taute attributes the work to Jean de Türckheim, but that Friedrich Ludwig Schröder gives it to Henri de Virieu.
