[Architecture] Set of two folio holders containing architectural plates from the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures - Travaux de vacances 1885-1886-1887-1888, plans et coupes de moteurs, fours, gazogènes, etc, etc, des usines de Tourcoing, de Reims...., Denain and Athus steelworks, Etrepagny (Eure) sugar mills, Le Havre port, Saumur and Avaur sur l'Agout bridges, La Joliette movable bridge, Courrières mines... More than 170 plates in folio, sometimes faded or torn. In addition, the set contains over 70 original drawings, sometimes watercolored, of architectural and mechanical sections and plans, stamped by the Ecole Centrale, and sometimes by L. Poitevin, son of Alphonse Poitevin, the chemical engineer who invented photolithography, the first process for reproducing an image by printing, the cyanotype, unalterable charcoal photography and the printing process using fatty inks in color.
