In-12, 344 pp. in red morocco, gilt spine with fleurons on the corners, coat of arms in the center of the first plate, ribbed spine decorated in the grotesque style, int. dent, gilt tr. (E. POUGET). First edition. Ex. on strong tinted vellum (head edition without justification). OHR correctly attributes this coat of arms to King Louis-Philippe (pl. 2499, irons nos. 10 and 11 with variants). Indeed, on February 16, 1831, Louis-Philippe, "King of the French", decided to remove the fleurs-de-lis from his coat of arms and replace them with the tables of the charter. This copy probably bears the arms of his grandson Louis Philippe Albert d'Orléans comte de Paris, born in Paris on August 24, 1838 and died at Stowe House (UK) on September 8, 1894. He was an Orleanist pretender to the throne of France from 1848 to 1873 as Louis-Philippe II, then from 1883 to 1894 as Philippe VII.
