JANNIOT Alfred Auguste, after, by the workshop of Innocenzo Italo Antonio SANTELLI (1889-1963) Nymph - Tribute to Jean Goujon, circa 1924 plaster with light beige patina (small chips and traces of patina wear), unsigned Height: 59.5 cm; Depth: 33 cm; Width: 44 cm. Bust of the nymph on the left in the famous Hommage à Jean Goujon, the artist's masterpiece. Group created in 1925 and presented at the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs, in front of the Ruhlmann pavilion, known as the Pavillon du Collectionneur. This monumental work was a great success and launched Janniot's career. Many details of this group were used as stand-alone works, the fragments becoming decorative interior sculptures.
