Ottoman TURKEY, Iznik, circa 1575 Two tiles with red mandorles and turquoise "saz" leaves Two siliceous ceramic tiles with polychrome decoration of large mandorles and turquoise palms on a background of floral branches, the composition extending over four tiles. (Several fractures, repaints, restorations with old staples, burn marks). Height 24.5 cm; Width: 24.5 cm These two tiles are part of a well-known group of Iznik tiles, of which numerous examples mounted in panels can be found in public and private collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.
